Ulli Allmendinger is an Ayurvedic nutrition consultant, detox specialist, phytotherapist and Ayurvedic educator. Along with her passion for cooking, she is also interested in Far Eastern Healing Arts and energy work.
Since 2003 she has studied Ayurveda in the USA and India with world renowned teachers such as Dr. Robert Svoboda and Dr. Vasant Lad. In addition to completing Dr. Lad's two-year full-time program at the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico, Ulli completed her postgraduate studies in Ayurvedic Sciences at the International Vedic Hindu University (IVHU) in Florida. Women's health is something Ulli is very interested in. Ulli supports and guides women of all ages in hormonal balance and fertility. She is also a licensed postpartum AyurDoula, covering the postpartum period, postpartum care for mother and child, personal diet, herbal formulations and various body therapies.
She has studied phytotherapy with Karta Purkh Singh Khalsa, a world-renowned herbalist and author who combines the Western scientific herbal treatment system with the traditional treatments of Ayurveda and Chinese medicine.
Although Ulli has left behind a successful career as a journalist in New York, she regularly writes articles on Ayurveda for various international magazines. Her first book in Turkish, Ayurveda, was published by Doğan Publishing in 2017.; her second with Südwest/Penguin in Fall 2024 in Germany.
Currently dividing her time between Istanbul, Berlin and Bali, Ulli offers personal counseling, Ayurveda workshops and trainings as well as organizing various retreats in her field in Turkey and Europe. She was the director of Ulli Ayurveda and co-founder of Turkey's first Ayurvedic restaurant NoBO in 2019/20.
